In order to assess clients' progress at Physability, it is important to establish base- line assessments of the clients' initial capabilities. This is achieved through a number of methods such as:

·     Video assessment

·     Subjective analysis: strength, motor capabilities and      balance assessment

·    Basic physiological measurements , heart rate, blood   pressure, lung function and body composition analysis

With base line assessments recorded, client and therapist are able to compare results pre and post exercise programme. It is important to note that clients at the Centre compare self with self, rather than themselves with any external standard. On-going video assessment and digital photography also provide valuable visual feedback.

Personal exercise reports provide the client with evidence of progress made during the exercise programme. Included in the report are future strategies and advice on continuing therapy outside of the Centre. Post exercise support is provided through top-up courses and continued  e-mail and/or telephone support. Where possible, links are made with other exercise professionals located in the same locality of the client's home in order to maintain exercise programmes.

Whilst the current exercise programmes are supported by sound scientific theory, we are constantly reviewing past and current research literature and product information for any additional aids to the Centre's rehabilitation programme.  We also encourage clients to provide feedback on our exercise programmes and strategies in order to continue to improve and develop our service.
