Marie's
feedback on our approach to
exercise therapy
Reporting on the benefits of
exercise therapy programme for multiple scleorsis

Living with Multiple Sclerosis
& the benefits of exercise :
Before Coming to
Physability "my condition" was sustained by the system. I was offered very
little encouragement to do things for myself, with never any real hope for
my future
Since coming to the
centre, the focus was very much aimed on what I was able to do and not what
I was unable to do. I was given the encouragement to maximise on my
abilities rather than dwell on my inabilities. Overall I have been offered
real encouragement to be positive about my long term goals and the
determination to meet them.

The benefits of exercise whether lying down,
seated, standing and our stretching programmes are very beneficial for
conditions such as multiple sclerosis often leaving the client with a
"feel good" factor. There are also frequent reports from clients affected
by M.S. that they feel a 'normal exercise fatigue' which is totally
different to the 'normal M.S. fatigue'. The feel good factor appears to
last for several days post exercise.
