David Akroyd-Jones BSc Hons, ITEC Dip Sports Massage - Is an accredited exercise scientist and exercise therapist at Physability. Registered with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES Interdisciplinary support), Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor (BACR) and advanced Instructor with the Register of Exercise Professionals, he has specialised in exercise science for individuals affected by paralysis since 1998.

His involvement with BASES has also helped establish new bridges with the University of Gloucestershire where he has been invited to give guest lectures on Sport and Exercise Science Undergraduate programme. The relationship with the University has gone from strength to strength and Physability now provides vocational experience for undergraduates wishing to experience client-centred exercise therapy.

David's other interests include Chinese martial arts and Chinese medicine which began in 1984 and continues to date, teaching martial arts in the U.K. and Hong Kong. He is a registered coach with the British association of Chinese Martial arts and Sports Coach UK. "The holistic nature of the Chinese approach and the attention to use of energy, structure and technique in movement has been the inspiration to develop further skills and greater understanding of human performance".
